Adisadel College student denies assault accusation; case to be heard after WASSCE

The perpetrator in the famous video attacking a fellow Adisadel College student has denied the allegations of assault and inflicting damage.

Despite being released on bond, the accused faces the burden of upcoming WASSCE exams. As a result, the court has decided to adjourn the case until after the tests are completed.

Both parents of the implicated youngsters and members of the general public were present throughout the court sessions.

Due to the delicate nature of the case, however, it was held in the judge’s chamber.

His Majesty The presiding judge, Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako, has delayed the case until September 27, 2023, to let the students finish their final examinations without interruption.

About the Adisadel College case

The event occurred on June 30, 2023, when one of the pupils was shown in a viral video strangling a fellow student and then striking his head on a nearby metal bed.

The video garnered substantial condemnation from the public, with some doubting the incident’s motivation.

According to Citi News, the kids were fighting over a sim card belonging to one of them.

After the event, the Housemaster of Quaque House, where the incident occurred, was suspended, as were the students.

Following a visit by the Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the pupils were given a psychologist.
