Alan Ritchson was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on November 28, 1982, as the second of three boys to high school teacher Vickie and retired US Air Force Chief Master Sergeant David. Ritchson relocated to Rantoul, Illinois as a child before settling in Niceville, Florida. He attended Niceville High School, where he graduated in 2001. Ritchson earned an associate of arts degree from Okaloosa Walton Community College, which is now known as Northwest Florida State College. Ritchson has three children with his wife Cathrine. Ritchson began his modelling career in the Abercrombie & Fitch collection. He rose to prominence in 2004 after appearing on the reality television singing competition series “American Idol,” where he finished as one of the top 87 competitors.

Ritchson’s breakout part came in 2005 when he made his acting debut. That same year, he appeared as Arthur Curry, commonly known as Aquaman, in the television superhero series “Smallville.” Ritchson appeared in the fifth season of the show, and then again in the tenth and final season in 2010. Ritchson played LAPD officer Arthur Bailey on the short-lived Syfy series “Blood Drive” in 2017. Christina Ochoa, Marama Corlett, Colin Cunningham, and Thomas Dominique played his co-stars.
