Sergiño Dest is set to leave Barcelona for AC Milan in the coming hours after a deal was agreed with Milan, as first reported by Relevo
Dest will join Milan on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer worth around €20 million.
The United States international had also drawn interest from Villarreal and Manchester United but neither of those deals moved forward for different reasons.The former Ajax right-back wanted to convince Xavi he deserved to stay but has seen that he will not get minutes at Barça and decided to leave. Milan will compete in the Champions League this year and are fighting to retain the Serie A title, which makes a move to the Italian side attractive. On Wednesday, he trained for what is likely to be the final time with his Barça teammates.
