Aisha, Black Sherif’s mother, recently recounted her emotional reaction to her son winning Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Aisha confessed her scepticism and fear about the outcome in an interview with Zionfelix on a YouTube Channel, which produced bodily agony and caused her to turn away from the television screen for a brief while.
She claimed that the event’s excitement and unease caused a stomach upset owing to the tension preceding the presentation of the Artiste of the Year.
She withdrew her sight from the TV screen for a moment, uncertain about her son’s chances of winning.
“I was nervous and had a stomach ache, so I had to turn away from the television.” But when Okraku stated, ‘When a man works hard, God honours him,’ I found hope again. “I realised the award was going to Sherif based on that proverbial statement,” she explained.
Aisha expressed her relief and thanks for the help they received from Konongo Odumase, their hometown. “Where I stay is not a family home, but those around us were very supportive of our decision to make noise.” “We didn’t even get enough sleep that day,” she added.
She also expressed her gratitude to the people of Konongo Odumase, saying, “Konongo Odumase people have really shown love.”
