Boxing: Ghana's Isaac Dogboe loses title fight to Robeisy Ramirez

Ghana’s Isaac Dogboe was defeated by Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez in a unanimous decision in his attempt to become a two-division world champion.

Throughout the fight, Dogboe struggled to find his rhythm as he was constantly under attack by the Cuban powerhouse intent on dictating the tempo.

Ramirez’s intentions were clear by the second round when he threw a flurry of punches and combos that Dogboe struggled to counter.

It was more of the same in the following rounds, with Dogboe struggling to make an impression.

The judges were unanimous in their decision, scoring it 117-110, 118-109, and 119-108 in favour of Robeisy Ramirez, who claimed the vacant WBO featherweight title in style.

Dogboe’s record now stands at 24-3 (15KOs), with all three losses coming at the title level.
