President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has finally sacked member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo as Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
In a press release on Thursday night by the director of communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah has been asked to continue to act as a caretaker minister until a substantive appointment is made.

Background
Sarah Adwoa Safo and two other legislators, Kennedy Agyapong and Henry Quartey were referred to the Privileges Committee for absenteeism.
However, Sarah Adwoa Safo failed to appear before the Committee to justify her absence for over fifteen sittings after many attempts by the Committee to reach her failed.
Meanwhile, attempts by the presidency to convince the lawyer cum legislator to return to her post as the substantive minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection provide futile after months of pursuit by the chief of staff, Hon. Frema Opare.
It is in light of this that some NPP MPs and political commentators called for her sack but the minority in parliament jumped to her defence as her absence reduced the number of the majority, making it even for both sides of the house.
