Barber murders 18-year-old girlfriend in Akyem Nsutam, Eastern Region

The Kibi Divisional Police Command is now on the lookout for Osei Michael, also known as Emeka, who is suspected of stabbing his 18-year-old girlfriend, Abigail Asare, many times in Akyem Nsutam, which is located in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred in Emeka’s barbershop after a brief quarrel erupted when Abigail visited him after being told by her school to come home for a short vacation.
The motivation for the crime is unknown, however, sources claim Emeka accused Abigail of having an affair with another guy.
Emeka then locked the injured girl inside the business and departed, leaving her in severe condition.

The victim’s family members, along by the police, attended the murder scene and subsequently brought Abigail’s body to the Accra Police Hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, officials have launched a search operation to locate the suspect, who is said to be hiding in the Suhum area.

Four people killed as US convoy ambushed in Nigeria

According to local authorities, gunmen ambushed a US convoy in south-eastern Nigeria, killing four persons.
According to reports, two of the victims of Tuesday’s attack in Anambra state were workers of the US consulate, while the other two were police officers.
The perpetrators seized three more persons and set fire to their vehicle.
According to Washington, no US citizens were in the convoy, which was travelling through a state rife with instability and a separatist insurrection.
According to Nigerian police, the attack occurred on the Atani-Osamale route in the Ogbaru region.
According to DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, a police spokesperson, security forces are currently conducting a rescue and recovery operation.
The US confirmed to the BBC that “an incident occurred on May 16 in Anambra state,” adding that Washington was collaborating with Nigerian security authorities to investigate the attack.
“The security of our personnel is always paramount, and we take extensive precautions when organising trips to the field,” the US state department said.
The Nigerian government frequently blames violent attacks in the region on the separatist Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) movement.
So far, the group has made no public comments on the matter.
