Farruko irritated his audience in early 2022 during a concert at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida, by often stopping his performances to talk about his commitment to God. His penchant for religious devotion was too much for many viewers, who left the concert early in dismay. In response to criticism, Farruko said that his musical character had been “retired” and that he would now be known as Carlos, his birth name.
