Mike Onyemachara, a former Super Eagles defender, has been reported dead.
On Thursday, May 4, he died abruptly in his flat in Lagos State, according to reports.
Onyemachara was also a member of the Nigeria U20 squad that won silver in the 1989 Fifa U20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
According to TheNiche, the ex-international was not unwell before his death.
He was apparently well when his wife and children went to work and school, only to return to find that the food provided to him on the table had not been touched and that he had died.
However, some of his teammates who were close to him said that he had been complaining of back troubles recently.
Onyemachara was a key component of the Saudi 89 Flying Eagles squad.
He was part of the side that denied the United States a berth in the 1989 cadet World Cup final, although the Flying Eagles went on to lose 2-0 to Portugal.
