Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) have lost a headline sponsorship deal worth GH¢800,000 after Asante Kotoko withdrew from the G6 Tournament, according to a report by Angel Sports.

Baladna, Qatar’s largest dairy and beverage producer agreed with GHALCA to invest GH¢800, 000 into this year’s tournament but later decided to pull out of the deal after Kotoko announced that the club won’t participate in the pre-season tournament.

Asante Kotoko explained in a Twitter post that the decision to pull out from the tourney is purely sporting.

However, it later emerged the club will travel to Turkey to have their pre-season training, hence the decision.

Angel Sports source revealed that it’s likely the tournament will be cancelled due to lack of funds after all the sponsors bowed out. GHALCA EXCO will meet tomorrow to discuss the tournament’s future.
