Ghana coach Chris Hughton claims he developed positive relationships with his players while serving as technical advisor

Ghana coach Chris Hughton has stated that he built a good relationship with the current players while serving as the national team’s technical advisor.

The former Brighton manager was appointed technical advisor last March, ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

He held that position until the 2022 World Cup when the technical team was disbanded following Otto Addo’s resignation.

Hughton claims that he established positive relationships with the players and people associated with the national team during that time.

“Being a technical advisor allowed me to get a good feel of the squad and also get to build relationships with the players and people around the national team.”, he said at his official unveiling ceremony.

Hughton’s first assignment is on Thursday in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
