Accra Hearts of Oak will be on standby for the preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup and wait to play against the winner of AS Douanes versus ASR Bamako in the second round of the competition.
Hearts will either travel to Dakar in Senegal or Bamako in Mali to seek qualification as the sole representative of Ghana in the competition after winning the MTN FA Cup to seal the slot for the competition.
Hearts will seek to redeem themselves following an abysmal showing at the showpiece last season after they were humiliated by JS Saoura of Algeria and eventual winners, Wydad Athletic Club of Morroco.
