"I am," he answered when asked if he was disappointed by the president's failure. "I'm extremely disappointed." 'So, come 2024, would you still vote for the NPP?' he was questioned again. He said, "No." He responded "Yes" when asked about the NDC. Despite this, he believes ex-President and NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama is good and has the capacity to transform Ghana's economy. The presenter further stated that he supported the NPP because he imagined a better Ghana under Nana Akufo-Addo's administration, which did not materialise. Although he praised the NPP government for instituting the free SHS programme, he believes it was not adequately implemented owing to the government's failure to compensate caterers.

Kofi Okyere Darko, commonly known as KOD, an award-winning broadcast journalist and Creative President of Nineteen57, has stated which political party he would vote for in the 2024 general election.

Previously, the media celebrity stated he was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after supporting the party’s campaign ahead of the 2016 elections.

KOD, on the other hand, has declared his desire to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2024. He expresses his dissatisfaction with the NPP for failing to meet their commitments.

On Joy Prime’s morning programme on Wednesday, he made these remarks during the ‘Big Interview’ section with host Roselyn Felli.

“I think Mahama was an amazing and wonderful president. He did amazingly well for this country, but when he lost the election and Nana Akufo-Addo became president, I thought, well, Nana has been trying for all these years.

“If he had never become president, it would have been like the best man we never had, and especially now that the narrative we hear is that the next person is going to do what I was not able to finish; no, that’s not Nana Akufo-Addo.”

“I am,” he answered when asked if he was disappointed by the president’s failure. “I’m extremely disappointed.”

‘So, come 2024, would you still vote for the NPP?’ he was questioned again. He said, “No.”

He responded “Yes” when asked about the NDC.

Despite this, he believes ex-President and NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama is good and has the capacity to transform Ghana’s economy.

The presenter further stated that he supported the NPP because he imagined a better Ghana under Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, which did not materialise.

Although he praised the NPP government for instituting the free SHS programme, he believes it was not adequately implemented owing to the government’s failure to compensate caterers.

Furthermore, the fashion designer believes that the Akufo-Addo administration should have done better.

Ghanaians have accused KOD of violating journalistic standards by supporting the NPP as a journalist. However, he stated, “I’m just someone who is very passionate about Ghana.”
