I am a young teacher at age 24 (not a graduate). I live in a rented place with my mum and siblings . Life is hard but we are managing. Apparently, I’m the only one who’s working.
My younger brother is in the training college, whiles my senior brother is in some crisis and my mum’s trading businesses is nothing to write home about, which leaves 50 % or more of the financial responsibility at home on me .
My salary is meagre but I have a lot to take care of ; feeding , water and electricity , school fees and the likes. This leaves me unable to save anything. I’ve been working for almost 4 years since I completed high school yet I don’t have a penny saved .
People have advised that I can only be stable financially if I move out and rent my own place as this will cut down on the expenses I take care of at home . Kindly share your thoughts please .
I want to move out as soon as possible but I don’t have a dime .
Is it advisable I take a loan and pay monthly so I can rent ?
Would moving out surely help me stabilize my income and help me save ?
Would it be okay if I stop giving my mum the monthly money I give her when I receive my salary ?
NB : she starts demanding even before my salary is paid and it looks so sad I can’t help it but use all I can to support her .
How do I start my own life without making her feel neglected or forsaken ?
Thanks for reading .
