President of the Ghana Football Association Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has expressed worry over the failure of an African nation to lift the Federation of International Football Association [FIFA] World Cup trophy since the inception of the global showpiece in 1930.

Mr Okraku made this pronouncement when the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation Samuel Eto’o paid an official visit to the GFA capo for a dialogue.

Mr Okraku remarked that the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Black Stars of Ghana will surprise the world by meeting in the finals, of which one will be the first African side to win the Mundial.

”Ghana and Cameroon are big football nations with no doubt, and we need people with the same mindset to push the message of what football is all about. Now we are both going to the world cup and pray that Ghana and Cameroon will meet in the finals so that everybody in the world will keep quiet”, he intimated.

GFA capo further stated; ”I took over a football nation that was struggling obviously, and we did numerous things to get that victory against my brother Amaju Pinnick, which was not easy, and you saw the game in Abuja. That was crazy”.

”Unfortunately, it was either Ghana going out or Nigeria and I think God was for Ghana, but the most important thing is we’re going out there as an ambassadors of Africa.

”Perhaps it has been too long for an African nation to lift the trophy, but I think that all the things that we are doing, I’m sure are going to happen. He reiterated.
