Philip Flamini, a winger for Ghana Premier League team Karela FC, will appear in court on Tuesday, May 4, 2023, after being remanded in police custody on charges of defiling a 13-year-old girl.
According to Max FM’s correspondent in Aiyinase, Solomon Dominic, the event allegedly occurred on Saturday, April 29. Following examination, the said player denied the conduct; nevertheless, subsequent investigations indicated the player was guilty until the law courts pronounced him guilty.
After extensive research, paralegal and social welfare advocate Jonas Kabutey confirmed the occurrence on MAX FM’s Sports Pack.
Kabutey went on to claim that the practice is growing every day in the area and is unique to Karela players.
“Despite the perpetrator’s persistent pressure, the 13-year-old did very well in reporting the incident to his father, and this is not the only incident in the area.” You’ll be astonished when I tell you what my investigations have discovered.
“The small girl was strangled and his trousers were torn into shreds, so the player later confessed to the act, and with this, he will appear in court Tuesday for final judgement,” he told MAX FM.
According to reports, the club has issued an official statement explaining its stance. Karela, who is ranked 11th with 38 points, will play Aduana Stars on Monday at 3 p.m. ahead of the court day.
