A member of the Asante Kotoko board has hinted at the team’s preparation ahead of the CAF Champion League to represent Ghana.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Mr Yaw Adu noted that the Board of Directors are not oblivious of Otumfour’s wish for the club to win an African trophy in his reign as the sole shareholder and Life Patron of the club.

“The King has requested we win Africa so we are preparing extremely well to tackle this campaign,” he intimated.

However, Yaw Adu believes that winning a trophy in Africa requires a lot of hard work but was quick to note that the team will work assiduously to entertain football fans.

“I cannot emphatically say we are winning the competition because doing that doesn’t come easily.

“We are rather going to work and play very well to reach a respectable position. Anyone who promises to win it lacks technical in-depth,” he added

Asante Kotoko won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League with 67 points and are poised to make an impact in Africa.

Meanwhile, the playing body of the team is on a break and will soon pitch camp to begin preparations for the African showpiece.
