Man arrested after reportedly killing a landlord in Bia West

A man in his late 40s is accused of beheading his landlord in Yaw Anane, an agricultural village in the Western North Region’s Bia West District.

The assemblyman for Nafana Electoral Area, Augustine Bediako, confirmed the tragic occurrence to Onua FM’s Emmanuel Sowah, saying the deceased and suspect are both farmers, but the victim, Kwasi Antoh, 60, owned the property while the suspect, Yaw Wotoro, was the farm caretaker.

According to the assemblyman, Kwasi Antoh visited his property and was dissatisfied with the condition of the land.

He said that the farm’s weeds had not been cleaned and that no pruning or other agricultural cultural practices had been performed.

As a result, he complained vehemently.

The farm keeper apparently did not like the landlord’s vituperation, and there were also suspicions that he had been ‘chasing’ his 19-year-old daughter around the hamlet.

Yaw Wotoro, the suspect, became frustrated and put a cutlass to his landlord’s neck in the rear of his house before fleeing.

Residents of the town, on the other hand, conducted a comprehensive search and inquiry and eventually arrested him.

The Assemblyman used the occasion to ask locals to report any similar incidents to them or the police.

The suspect is being held in police custody in Akatiso, Bia West District.
