Man butchers wife at Nungua as family demands justice

A 25-year-old lady is said to have been slain by her husband in Nungua, Greater Accra Region.

During a scuffle with her husband, the deceased, whose name was only given as Eunice, was inflicted with cutlass wounds.

According to sources, the young woman died on the scene as a result of the incident. The guy was also accused of assaulting his father-in-law.

Eunice had left the house owing to her husband’s mental and physical violence.

In an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday, the deceased’s father, Ebenezer Dwomoh, said they are still in disbelief.

He added that the incident occurred when Eunice went to her husband’s residence to deliver a summons letter from the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit.

Mr Dwomoh described his son-in-law as a chronic wife abuser, forcing his daughter to leave the residence.

“Eunice moved out of the house because she couldn’t take the beatings any longer, so this man decided to make her life a living hell.” “He’ll even come to our house and beat her up,” he grumbled.

Mr Dwomoh claimed that Eunice’s threat of divorce was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“He followed my daughter everywhere she went and beat her until he killed her on that faithful day,” he claimed.

He said that after executing the horrible murder, the suspect attempted to flee, but neighbours in the vicinity apprehended him and severely beat him.

Mr Dwomoh stated that if the police had not intervened in time, the culprit would have been lynched.

He urged the Ghana Police Service to guarantee that the suspect confronts the full force of the law.

“We will pursue this matter until this man is imprisoned.” “We want Eunice to get justice,” Mr Dwomoh stated emphatically.
