My boyfriend wants us to give birth before getting married. His reasons are that; most couples find difficulty with reproduction after marriage and also he doesn’t have the money for a marriage ceremony at the moment.
I told him, we don’t need to hold a huge ceremony, it could just be both parents and ourselves, then in the future, if we would want to have a huge wedding, we can.
I’m soo confused at the moment as he wants me to decide. I feel my parents would be disappointed in me if I do what my boyfriend is saying. My parents’ comments about other people giving birth and hoping they would get married are still not negative only.
They would hate to see me in the same situation. What if I do what my boyfriend is saying but after childbirth, he changes and wants to be with someone else?
I love him a lot, and I know he does too. We’ve been together for 9 years. I would hate to see us break up because of this. He seems to be in a hurry to have children.
Please help me, what do you think about couples hoping to get married after childbirth?
