Nana Addo Finally Explains Reason For Increased Budget Allocation To Free SHS Despite Economic Crisis; This Is What He Had To Say

The current President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has provided details on the major reason why the government took a decision to increase its investment in the Free SHS program despite the worrisome situation of the Ghana’s economy.

Explaining further on the sudden increase in budget allocation for the policy, he said the program has proven to be more impactful than it used to be a few years ago based on the level of performance of the policy and its importance to beneficiaries over the past two years.

Adding to this, Nana Addo said the results of the third batch of Free SHS clearly shows the average pass of students experienced a slight regression from that of the year 2021.

In relation to this analysis, the President said the 2021 batch of students who were able to obtain highly impressive results were pioneers of the double track system which happens to be one of the newly introduced educational systems that elicited numerous vilification and unfounded crìtìcisms during its introduction.
