Regardless of the turmoil his divisive opinions may stir up, The Game has never been afraid to voice his viewpoint.

According to him, his younger colleague NBA YoungBoy has the potential to make an impact on the culture akin to that of the late Hip-Hop great, 2Pac.

Speaking in a recent interview with Montreality, the Game said: “NBA YoungBoy will be the 2Pac of this generation.

Sometimes when you see an 18-year-old kid say, ‘NBA YoungBoy is better than 2Pac,’ it’s not because he actually is or 2Pac is better than NBA YoungBoy. It’s just the Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant/Lebron James thing. It’s different eras of greatness.”

The Compton native noted that many of today’s fans were born well after Pac’s passing, making their choice for one over the other as logical. He was aware that his comparison of YoungBoy to Pac would draw criticism.

“You should just appreciate them now because an 18-year-old cannot appreciate or relate to Tupac because they weren’t even alive. 2Pac has been dead for 26 years, so an 18-year-old kid wasn’t even born for another six years after he died. So why would you expect him to relate to Tupac over NBA YoungBoy?”

The Game is not the first to draw a comparison between 2Pac and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. In a July interview with TMZ, Southern rap legend Bun B recognized that YoungBoy has been dubbed the “new 2Pac” of this generation. The rapper, who has four times reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart, is said to have signed a $60 million deal with Cash Money Records last month.
