Guinness Ghana Limited’s Managing Director, Dr Heleene Weesie, has stated that the goal of the company’s sponsorship of the WPL is to change people’s perceptions of prejudice in the world of national football.
After signing a contract with the Ghana Football Association for the next three seasons, Malta Guinness becomes the first international organization to sponsor the Women’s League since 2018.
Speaking during the launch and introduction of Malta Guinness as the official sponsor of the Women’s Premier League at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Dr Heleene Weesie made these declarations.
“We’re confident that our collaboration with the GFA to sponsor the WPL will enable us to eliminate bias in the world of national football, as this year’s International Women’s Day subject was breaking the bias. For these remarkable women and other women across the nation, we want to build a World of Good. To create a world where everyone can succeed, Malta Guinness is certain. Our campaign, Enjoy a World of Good, was started as a result of this desire”.
“We are committed to fostering a culture where people are inspired, reborn, and empowered to realize all of their goals and desires. Football is, as we all know, the national pastime. It is a game that enthuses our nation as a whole and brings us all together. Men and women both like and participate in this game. We are glad to assist by sponsoring the women’s premier league since we feel that women in sports need it to reach their full potential”.
