Ghanaian champions, Asante Kotoko have been in the news since Wednesday for the wrong reasons following the resignation of coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.

A Series of information has popped up with many media outlets coming out with different filas as to why the former WAFA coach left his post at the royal club after successfully guiding them to a 25th league trophy.

However, the first vice chairman of Asante Kotoko Supporters Circle, Nana Kwame Dankwah in an interview with Esther Abankwah on Abomu Sports on Angel TV admitted to the ‘cold war’ that exists between Prosper Ogum and the leadership of the club.

Honestly, and I think that truth be told. There is a problem. We must admit but unfortunately, I’m not in the position to go into it.

He revealed that Kotoko management’s absence at the One Week Observation of the coach’s father was an eye opener for him after a conversation with the team manager, Ohene Brenya.

According to Nana Kwame, his attempt to ascertain the truth of the matter and subsequent resolution proved futile following the unwillingness of both parties to come to a compromise.

Meanwhile, A statement from the club’s board of directors on Friday has given a different twist on the matter with the hope that all outstanding issues can be resolved between the coach and management on Monday in a scheduled meeting.

Asante Kotoko is expected to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League in September in a quest to clinch their third title in the African showpiece.
