Communications Manager of Asante Kotoko, David Obeng Nyarko in a Facebook post has spelt out the club’s gains from Italy-based kits manufacturing company, Errea.
The post has become necessary following a revelation by Kumasi-based sports analyst, Owusu Bempah Ayala who took to social media to reveal that the fabulous club have been purchasing its apparel from Errea which costs them a a lot of money despite reports that it’s a sponsorship package from the Italian giants.
In a quick response, David Obeng Nyarko failed to debunk the claims by the respected journalist, however, he used a simple calculation to spell out Kotoko’s gains.
Kindly read below, David Obeng Nyarko’s response.
So Asante Kotoko gets €56,376 worth of free kits from Errea each season. As our responsibility towards Errea, we are supposed to purchase and sell €82,853.60 worth of paraphernalia including 6000 replicas at a discounted price of €12.50 (instead of €25 actual price) and any other paraphernalia of €7000.
Now simple arithmetic:
- Kotoko gets €56,376 free kits
- €12.5 x 6000 replicas ( €75,000.00 discount) free of charge
- €12.5 x 6000 replicas profit = €75,000
So €56,376+75,000+75000 = €206,376 expected total profit to Kotoko
Now who is the genius ? #NYAToaso
