Sam George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, has been re-elected as the constituency’s Parliamentary Candidate.
In the closely contested parliamentary primary, he defeated his bitter rival, Michael Kwettey Nettey, with 1036 votes.
Mr Kwettey received 626 votes out of the total polled.
The election was marred by charges of manipulation from Mr Kwettey’s side, prompting the Police to temporarily suspend voting.
Muntaka Mubarak, the incumbent MP for Asawase in the Ashanti region, has defeated Masawudu Mubarick to head the NDC in that district for the sixth time.
Mahama Ayariga, the current Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has also been re-elected to represent the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2024 election.
In the recently concluded NDC primaries, the former Information Minister received 863 votes.
Mr Ayariga will head the party for the fourth time in the general elections in 2024.
Ustarz Jibreal Sahad received 283 votes, while Theo Braimah Awanzam received 96.
Former President John Dramani Mahama received 1201 votes in the presidential primaries, while Kojo Bonsu received 24 votes and Kwabena Duffuor, who dropped out of the contest Friday evening, received 9 votes.
Three votes were rejected out of the total valid votes cast.
Dr Dominic Akurintinga Ayine received 292 votes in the Bolgatanga East Constituency, whereas Dr Emmanuel Aberiinga received 121 votes.
Nyamekye Armah Blay received 502 votes in the Sekondi constituency, while Samuel Bissah received 307. Four votes were invalidated.
Kwabena Duffuor Junior received 203 votes in the Sekyere Afram Plains seat but was defeated by Hajia Nasira Afrah, who received 211 votes.
Alex Adomako Mensah, the current member of Parliament, finished third with 86 votes, while Prof. Edward Brenya, a political science instructor at KNUST, received 65 votes.
Dzudzorli Gakpe has also been re-elected as the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Keta Constituency.
Dr Kwabena Donkor, a former Power Minister, has been defeated in his quest to head the Pru East constituency. Dr Donkor received 371 votes. Lord Kwaku Boam received 474 votes, while Bright Fiawornu received 66 votes.
