The legislative and presidential elections are presently underway, and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel George Nartey, was seen in remarkable military-style gear bringing delegates off of buses to vote.
Mr Nartey’s army green uniform, which has his name and the NDC’s logo, gives a bizarre touch to the elections.
In an interview with Joy News, Mr Nartey expressed confidence in his victory, stating, “Trust me, I will get a resounding victory after today’s primaries.”
“This is going to be one of the best elections that have ever happened.” He emphasized that he is focused on the delegates and ensuring they vote for him.
According to a recent Global InfoAnalytics survey, Mr Nartey is expected to easily win the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary on May 13. Michael Kwetey, his opponent, is expected to earn barely 16% of the vote.
