Two fishermen were killed while fishing in Tema Newtown during the closed season.
According to Isabella Gidiglo of Adom News, the event occurred on Thursday morning.
According to accounts, the deceased were among 12 men who were instructed to go fishing by traditional authorities as part of an annual rite.
Unfortunately, when they were on the sea, other navy officials who were also on patrol at the time allegedly rammed their craft into their canoe without provocation after noticing them and claiming they were invaders.
According to the fisherman, the strike caused the canoe to topple, sending the people into the sea.
Ten of them were able to swim ashore and preserve their lives, while the other two did not.
In an interview, a Traditional Council official voiced dissatisfaction with the occurrence.
He said that the Fisheries Ministry was aware that some guys went fishing despite the fact that the season was halted due to their ceremony.
The fisherman, who were outraged by their comrades’ deaths, claimed they expected the cops to respond more professionally.
Instead of being attacked, they believe they should have been taken onshore for interrogation about their presence on the water.
