With City needing a victory to ensure they could hold off Arsenal, who started the final day two points behind but with a higher goal differential, Phil Foden put Pep Guardiola’s side ahead after only two minutes.

The England star scored another before halftime, and while Mohammed Kudus drew one back, midfielder Rodri restored the home side’s two-goal lead with a strike from the edge of the box after 59 minutes.

City escaped a late scare after VAR ruled West Ham’s second goal out for handball.

Nonetheless, their success was never in doubt.

The victory brought the club’s league record to 19 victories and four draws since their previous setback at Aston Villa on December 6.

City has now won six of the last seven Premier League championships. Last season, they joined Huddersfield, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United in winning the Premier League for the third consecutive year.

Guardiola’s club has now accomplished what no other men’s team has since the formation of the English league in 1888, 136 years ago.

They will meet Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on May 25th, looking to become the first team to clinch the domestic double in consecutive seasons.

Fury, disappointed in defeat, disputed Usyk’s performance, saying, “I believe I won that fight. He won a few rounds but I won the majority. We both put on a good fight. We’ll be back, we’ve got a rematch clause. I believe I won that fight but I’m not going to sit here, cry and make excuses.”

Usyk’s victory marks a historic moment in boxing, as he becomes the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The win also sets up a potential rematch with Fury, which is already generating significant buzz in the boxing community.

The rematch, tentatively scheduled for October, promises to be another epic encounter between two of the world’s top heavyweights. For now, however, Usyk can bask in the glory of his hard-fought win and celebrate his newfound status as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Brighton’s head coach, Roberto de Zerbi, will quit following the club’s last Premier League match of the season against Manchester United at home on Sunday.

Chairman Tony Bloom stated that the Premier League team and De Zerbi “have mutually agreed” on the Italian’s departure.

De Zerbi, 44, signed a four-year deal with the Seagulls in September 2022 after previously coaching Shakhtar Donetsk.

Brighton finished sixth last season, their highest-ever top-flight position, achieving European qualifying for the first time in club history.

“Roberto has given us two excellent seasons of service in which he has led the club to new heights, not least our first-ever European campaign which will live long in the memory of Albion fans,” Bloom stated.

“We have mutually agreed to end Roberto’s contract at a time that suits both parties allowing us the earliest opportunity to plan for next season, and Roberto plenty of time to consider his next move and his future.”

BBC Sport believes that one manager on Brighton’s list to replace De Zerbi is likely to be Kieran McKenna, who just gained promotion to the Premier League with Ipswich.

Brighton topped their group in the Europa League this season, defeating Ajax, Marseille, and AEK Athens before being eliminated in the final 16 by Roma.

They are currently tenth in the Premier League heading into their last game on Sunday and cannot finish much higher.

“I am sure our fans will give Roberto and his staff a wonderful and fully deserved send-off at the Amex before, during and after tomorrow’s match,” Bloom stated.

“In the meanwhile, I’d want to thank Roberto and his colleagues for all of their hard work over the last two seasons. They have all left our club on good terms, with our best wishes for the future.”

De Zerbi, who took over after Graham Potter departed for Chelsea, stated: “We have agreed to conclude my tenure at Brighton so that the club and I may continue to operate in the way that works best for each of us, following our own ideas and ambitions, as well as our professional and personal values.

“Leaving now allows me to take a break before deciding on my future intentions.

“I am very sad to be leaving Brighton, but I am very proud of what my players and staff have achieved with the support of everyone at the club and our amazing fans in the past two historical seasons.”

Seven De Zerbi’s coaching staff members will also go, although first-team coach Andrew Crofts and custodian Stern will remain at the club.
