Woman allegedly kills husband after he discovered their houseboy is her biological son

Abasiesebanga Ikoiwak, 36, and five others have been detained for the suspected murder of her 41-year-old husband, Barrister Godwin Ikoiwak.
According to the witness who testified in front of the High Court, the late Barrister was unaware that the youngster who had been living with him in his residence for years was his wife’s son.
The wife was said to have informed him that the youngster was her younger brother.
In his evidence before the court, the deceased’s friend, who was also a barrister, indicated that Ikoiwak died after a phone call in which he revealed that he was experiencing problems with his wife over adultery.
Anyanwu went on to say that the dead intimated to him that he reported the incident to his wife’s family, who summoned him to a meeting on their family property, but he did not come home alive.
His wife has been charged with his murder and is set to stand trial.
In her evidence, the accused admitted that she worked as a housekeeper for a Catholic priest and that the priest impregnated her, and that they produced a kid, who is now the 19-year-old she brought into the marriage as a houseboy.
The prosecution provided audio evidence that was played in open court to entice the jury.

Four people killed as US convoy ambushed in Nigeria

According to local authorities, gunmen ambushed a US convoy in south-eastern Nigeria, killing four persons.
According to reports, two of the victims of Tuesday’s attack in Anambra state were workers of the US consulate, while the other two were police officers.
The perpetrators seized three more persons and set fire to their vehicle.
According to Washington, no US citizens were in the convoy, which was travelling through a state rife with instability and a separatist insurrection.
According to Nigerian police, the attack occurred on the Atani-Osamale route in the Ogbaru region.
According to DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, a police spokesperson, security forces are currently conducting a rescue and recovery operation.
The US confirmed to the BBC that “an incident occurred on May 16 in Anambra state,” adding that Washington was collaborating with Nigerian security authorities to investigate the attack.
“The security of our personnel is always paramount, and we take extensive precautions when organising trips to the field,” the US state department said.
The Nigerian government frequently blames violent attacks in the region on the separatist Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) movement.
So far, the group has made no public comments on the matter.
