The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed the general public that the gas supply for power generation has been disrupted due to maintenance work being carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP).
According to the ECG, some power plants will be impacted for the next two weeks, resulting in power outages across the country.
In a statement, the Energy Ministry promised that measures are in place to procure additional petrol from Nigeria to deal with the impending negative effects.
In a separate statement, the Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) stated that there will be only a minor interruption in power supply to some ECG customers.
According to the statement, ECG will issue an outage timetable by Friday, March 31st, to inform customers accordingly.
