In a viral video, eight Chiana Senior High School students hurled abuses against Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo for reasons unknown to them.
The Ghana Education Service formed a committee to explore the grounds for their impolite behaviour and afterwards punished the eight for severe disrespect.
Following their discharge from the Ghana Education Service, the eight students resorted to social media to apologise, appealing for mercy from the president and school officials.
According to a letter from the Ghana Education Service, the President has asked the Minister of Education, Dr Philip Yaw Osei Adutwum, to forgive the eight students and find an alternative penalty for them.
So far, the release has garnered a tremendous mixed reaction on social and traditional media, with some Ghanaians applauding the president while others find nothing unique about the choice.
