The legendary Joaquin of Real Betis was interviewed after his team won last night’s Europa League match at the Stadio Olimpico. The Spanish midfielder talked about his cordial relationship with Jose Mourinho, the manager of Roma.
“It wasn’t easy to beat a team like Roma,” Joaquin told Sky Sport. “We played an excellent first half and got three crucial points.”
“In the second half we suffered but we remained compact and that’s what matters. We deserved this result.”
“Mourinho? We share a very friendly relationship. We’ve known each other many years so tonight we hugged each other and joked around.”
“For me it’s an honour to be hugged by someone as important as him.”
