Ball has been playing basketball with his brothers Lonzo and Lamelo since he was four years old. His father envisioned all of his sons becoming basketball players and raised them appropriately. The three brothers were first spotted playing together for Big Ballers VXT in the Amateur Athletic Union.

Ball attended Chino Hills High School, where he was a member of the basketball team that advanced to the CIF Southern Section Open Division championship finals. This early exposure to competitive games aided Ball in further developing his game, and he verbally committed to play for UCLA.

Personal Life

LiAngelo Ball is currently in a relationship with singer-songwriter Evoni, which he announced on Instagram.

Career

In 2017, Ball enrolled at the University of California. However, while their team was in China that year, Ball and two other players were detained on suspicion of theft from a Louis Vuitton store. This resulted in fines and the possibility of a prison sentence. He would be released from jail but suspended from his university’s basketball team. As a result, he decided to drop out of UCLA.

This resulted in Ball joining the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), where he began playing for Prienai in late 2017. His time at Prienai, however, would be cut short as his father expressed his displeasure with the team’s head coach. Despite his desire to be selected in the 2018 NBA draught, Ball was not chosen.

As a result, he signed with the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), which appeared to be a feasible alternative to college basketball. Some of Ball’s better games could be witnessed here when he was beginning to demonstrate his talent. By the end of the season, Ball had been chosen as a member of the JBA USA select squad, which went on an international tour.

Ball signed with OKC Blue in late 2019, however, his season was cut short due to the pandemic. The following year, he signed with the Detroit Pistons but was cut before appearing in the preseason.
