When I approached other artists for a collaboration, I was turned down - Blakk Rasta Bemoans

Abubakar Ahmed, best known by his stage name Blakk Rasta, is a well-known Ghanaian Reggae musician and broadcaster who has expressed his dissatisfaction with other musicians’ continued rejection of his pleas for musical cooperation.

Blakk Rasta urged musicians to stop underestimating their peers and campaigned for a paradigm change.
He emphasised to King Lagazee the importance of a general shift in the thinking of artists.

When asking musicians for collaboration, the reggae musician received unexpected answers.

Recently, I reached out to a few artists with collaboration proposals, and their responses were quite surprising,” he lamented

Blakk Rasta recognised that he has previously had the opportunity to collaborate with well-known musicians, but he claims that cooperation has never been his strong suit. Nonetheless, he blamed the lack of collaboration on those who underestimated the impact of their participation in his recordings on the game.

When ego prevails, true unity becomes elusive. If we genuinely want to move forward, we must let go of our egos,” he emphasized.
