Angela Gamadzi, a three-year-old Nursery 2 pupil, was murdered following a severe rain at Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwai municipality of the Western North Region.
Owusu Rockson, the victim’s school headteacher, revealed that the tragedy occurred after the school had closed.
He told Adom News that because of the severe rains, the students were restricted and word was issued to parents to pick up their children from the school grounds.
However, once the rains had stopped, the victim and two of her siblings attempted to go home and fell into a flooded gutter.
Eyewitnesses rescued her from the flood waters, bringing her to the hospital.
Before arriving at the Bibiani Government Hospital, she was proclaimed dead.
The deceased’s body was put in the hospital mortuary with parental permission, while police investigations were launched.
