A man in his forties has committed suicide in Hamile, Upper West Region.
He was discovered hanging from a tree near the border between Hamile and Burkina Faso.
The body was discovered hanging on a neem tree in the early hours of Saturday, April 1.
The incident was confirmed by a police officer from the Hamile Police Command, who stated that the police received the information around 1600 hours and responded to the scene.
According to police, they discovered the deceased’s lifeless body dangling from a neem tree with a rope around his neck.
The body was still hanging at the time of filing this report, awaiting the arrival of the Hapaa community’s traditional leaders to perform the necessary rituals before the body was moved to the mortuary.
According to some residents, the deceased was mentally ill.
