To supervise the behaviour of candidates in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Education Office in Accra has issued a variety of rules, including a prohibition on the wearing of socks.
They must wear “ONLY Flat Open Sandals, without socks” to the exam.
Candidates are also not permitted to wear wristwatches or carry mobile phones or other technological devices.
The BECE 2023 will be held from Monday, August 7 through Friday, August 11.
The 11-point examination dos and don’ts are primarily intended to reduce examination malpractice, which is now a nationwide problem.
Charles Odoom, the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Director of Education, signed the letter with the orders and handed it to all public and private schools in the municipality.
