NDC MP driver and bodyguard in critical condition after ghastly accident

The driver and bodyguard of Juaboso MP Kwabena Minta Akandoh are claimed to be in severe condition after their Toyota Land Cruiser crashed with a bus in Nyinahin yesterday.

General Corporal Joseph Ntimbe, the MP’s security, was going from Sefwi Juaboso to Kumasi in a vehicle with the registration number GN 441-14 driven by Joseph Amo, 32.

According to police, Mr Amo crashed head-on with the Mercedes Benz Sprinter Bus with registration number AS 7363-18, a Kumasi-Sefwi Wiawso bound bus, at Twere Nyame in an attempt to pass a car ahead.

All passengers on board the Sprinter Bus were injured in the collision, which happened at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

According to an eyewitness who talked to Adom News, they attempted to save the victim but had to wait for authorities to assist in his rescue owing to the depth of the well.

The Akwatia district police, commanded by their chief, assisted in the recovery of his remains.

The victim’s dead body was sent to the mortuary at the Kade Government Hospital for preservation and future examination.

Residents have thus made an urgent plea to the government and other charitable organisations to intervene and mechanise the community’s three boreholes.

This, they stated, will help ease the area’s water shortage and prevent similar terrible events from occurring in the future.
