It condemned Kobi and Nyarko to five years in jail on conspiracy charges and ten years on robbery charges. The judge ordered that the sentences be served concurrently. The complainant, Belinda Addae, is a housekeeper at the Bani Hostel at the University of Ghana, Legon, according to the prosecution. According to the prosecutor, the two prisoners met and decided to conduct a crime in Legon on July 25, 2023, about 0730 hours.

An Adentan Circuit Court sentenced two men to ten years in jail each for threatening a woman with a cutlass and robbing her of her GH650 mobile phone.

Stephen Kobi, a driver’s buddy, and Bernard Nyarko alias Bible pled guilty to robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Kobi informed the court that once his commercial vehicle was taken away from him, he embarked on a robbery spree.

In Nyarko’s case, he argued that his acts were motivated by economic difficulties and that his fiancée was also pregnant, thus the court should forgive him.

Mrs Sedinam Awo Balokah presided over the court, which found that their answers supported their guilt and hence convicted them on that basis.
