Nurudeen Abdulai and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, both Medeama SC defenders, have received late call-ups for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualification games.
Nurudeen will replace Rayo Vallecano defender Abdul Mumin, while Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City will replace Southampton forward Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The two have already arrived in Accra to join the rest of the Black Stars group.
The duo listed in Chris Hughton’s 25-man squad will not be eligible to participate in the two games, according to the GFA.
The Ghana FA, on the other hand, did not explain why they did not show up for the games.
The Black Stars reported for training on Monday, November 13, 2023, ahead of two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
Ghana will play Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, November 17, before flying to Comoros for their second Group I encounter on November 21 at the Stade de Moroni.
17 players are now in camp and will undergo their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium later today.
