Baba Rahman has left Chelsea for PAOK in Greece

Following the mutual termination of his contract with Chelsea, Ghana defender Baba Rahman has completed his transfer to Greek club PAOK.

Rahman, 29, has signed a three-year deal with PAOK, where he previously enjoyed a successful loan stint in 2021, helping the team win the Greek Cup.

Rahman has struggled to establish himself in Chelsea’s first squad since signing in 2015, resulting in numerous loan transfers away from the club. However, Chelsea is said to have agreed to reimburse 80% of Rahman’s remaining contract wage for the remaining year of his contract.

As they prepare to play in local and European games, the Greek club will be hoping that Rahman can make a huge impact and bolster their defensive options.

Rahman joined Chelsea from Augsburg for an unknown amount, rumoured to be an initial £14 million, increasing to a possible value of over £22 million, but has only played 23 games for the club.

He has spent the previous six seasons on loan at a variety of teams, including Schalke 04, Stade Reims, and Reading, where he has spent the last two seasons.
