Headteacher remanded in custody for allegedly sodomising a 14-year-old

The victim's parents, concerned about the symptoms their youngster was having, questioned him. He disclosed the incident and mentioned the headteacher's name following the interview. The matter was reported to the Odumase Police Department's Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), where the Headmaster was arrested and arraigned.

The Odumase Krobo Circuit Court has remanded Arthur Tettey Muala, 33, the headteacher of a private basic school, into jail detention.

Mr Muala was remanded in custody for allegedly sodomising a 14-year-old former male pupil of his school in the Eastern Region’s Lower Manya Krobo District.

At his initial appearance in court on Wednesday, November 8, the accused pled not guilty to the counts of defilement and Sodomy.

Detective Chief Inspector Dan Apedo, the Prosecuting Officer, informed the Court that in 2020, the suspect lured and began having anal intercourse with the victim constantly whenever he invited him to his apartment before he finished school.
