I don't own anything in Ghana, not even a car - Nam 1

In the ongoing Menzgold scandal, where victims are doggedly pursuing justice for their missing assets, the CEO has depicted himself as the most serious casualty of the entire saga.

As calls for accountability continue, Nana Appiah Mensah, commonly known as NAM 1, has acknowledged suffering the brunt of the crises’ consequences.

NAM 1’s claim derives from personal losses he claims to have suffered as a result of Menzgold’s demise.

He emphasised that the company’s demise had stripped him of all valuables.

In the heated conversation on social media, he declared that “If you want to crown the biggest loser in all of this thing, I am the one, because I lost everything: I lost all my properties and I don’t even have a car of my own in this country.”

On Monday, August 22, 2023, this information was revealed in a Twitter Space chat.

Nana Appiah Mensah utilised the forum to emphasise that, despite the charges, he has not personally benefitted from the finances of his clients.

“If one person has lost that one account, it means good has to come the biggest loser of the Biggest Loser. My mom invested, my sister’s invested, my wife invested, and my in-laws invested. Right? All my friends invested, I invested, I have really great relations in Spain and in Europe and elsewhere who invested and referred other people to invest. So it is not like the transactions like I said yesterday, the company packs the money to give it to me and then I take it to my house on day to day basis. It doesn’t work like that.”

He admitted that he has been the main point of blame and scapegoating in the complicated narrative of Menzgold’s failure, in response to reports that impacted customers have died, while others have suffered blows to relationships and health while drowning in debt.

While sympathising with those who have been harmed by the financial instability caused by Menzgold’s shutdown, Nana Appiah Mensah expressed regret for not intervening sooner to prevent the problem from worsening.

“Yes, I sympathize with what has happened, and if I have my own way, I would fix it. And I’m making an effort,” he added.

He underlined that payment will commence on October 20, 2023, upon validation.

The firm has stated that around 5,000 consumers have been compensated thus far, but the CEO declined to state how many customers were due in total, citing that this is the goal of the ongoing validation process.
