Mahama responds to Akufo-Addo’s determination to guarantee Bawumia wins 2024 elections

Mr Mahama told members of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in Accra on Tuesday, November 7, that "he has run out of ideas on how to solve the economic challenges we face." His new remark indicates that his concentration and last efforts would be devoted on establishing his anointed successor as the next president. We might have averted this bad [economic] position; the warning indications of these crises were plain to observe..."Conflicted Finance Minister, whose interest was to borrow recklessly and engulf our economy in a quagmire of debt as early as 2019."

Former President John Dramani Mahama has responded to President Nana Addo Dankwa Addo Dankwa’s determination to secure Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the 2024 general elections.

Mr Mahama stated that, despite the country’s tremendous economic issues, the President, who he claims lacks economic ideas, is instead devoting his energies to ensuring the Vice President wins the next elections.

Ghanaians, according to President Akufo-Addo, cannot afford the return of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.

President Akufo-Addo made the remarks while congratulating Dr Bawumia on his victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer elections.

He praised NPP members for how they handled themselves throughout the election on Saturday, November 4.

“You have shown that Ghana’s democracy is safe in your hands. I am confident that Mahamudu Bawumia will unite the party with the assistance of Ken Agyapong, Addai-Nimoh and others to provide us with strong leadership,” he said.

He added “I want to thank every single NPP person that for the last 16 years …I have one more task to do, and that is all my strength all my energy to help Bawumia win the elections of 2024.

“Ghana cannot afford the return of NDC especially under the leadership of John Mahama. The election will not be easy and we need unity.”
