Among those that reported to the team’s headquarters were captain James Ward-Prowse, Carlos Alcaraz, Che Adams, and Tino Livramento.
This year’s preseason represents a notable break from Southampton’s former routine since the club was relegated from the EPL in the 2022-2023 season and is preparing for life in the Championship.
Salisu, 24, missed a significant portion of the previous season in the latter half owing to a knee injury that prohibited him from playing in Ghana’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
According to The Athletic, the former Real Valladolid midfielder was skipping Southampton games owing to reservations about his loyalty to the club.
His outstanding season has piqued the curiosity of clubs like Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
