Some Ghanaians are unhappy with the Ghana Revenue Authority’s adoption of a 10% withholding tax on all betting, gaming, and lottery winnings.
The Ghanaian government announced the decision last week through its Revenue Authority (GRA), which has since sparked outrage among punters.
Punters voiced their opinions on the new tax when the GRA began collecting it. Twitter, the microblogging service, led the way as usual.
Others see this as the latest in a long line of “nuisance taxes” that make living in Ghana unpleasant.
