Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader in Parliament, has criticised the Black Stars’ recent performance, claiming that several players have outlived their usefulness.
Following back-to-back defeats against Mexico and the United States in international friendlies in October, the senior national team has been scrutinised.
Ghana defeated 2-0 against the CONCACAF champions before falling 4-0 to the US Men’s National Team.
Two or three players, according to Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, can no longer contribute effectively to the national team.

“In my opinion, a few Black Stars players have outlived their usefulness.” “I believe we should replace those guys because, from what I’ve seen, about two or three of them don’t measure up,” he stated in an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, on the other hand, expressed faith in the national team’s coach, Chris Hughton, citing the plethora of rising potential at their disposal.
He stated that these rising stars may fill in for less impactful players.
“The coach has numerous up-and-coming stars that he can choose from as their replacement,” the source said.
The Black Stars will regroup later this month to prepare for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar on November 17 and Comoros four days later.
Ghana hopes to win these games as they strive for a seventh World Cup berth before flying to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January.
