A couple was seriously injured in a collision involving four automobiles on the Kasoa-Cape Coast route in the Central Region at Tonisco junction near Gomoa Potsin junction.
A Toyota Corolla with the registration number AS 3677-14, a Honda Pilot with the registration number GT 8111-10, a Tipper automobile, and a Sprinter Benz bus were involved in the collision.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Toyota Corolla was driving from Accra to Winneba, while the other three vehicles were headed from Winneba to Accra.
The Toyota Corolla driver drove out of his lane and crashed with the tipper car’s back tyre, resulting in the collision.
The couple in the Toyota Corolla received serious injuries as a consequence of the collision.
The emergency services arrived swiftly and brought the injured couple to Potsin Polyclinic for medical care.
Local police personnel from Gomoa Dominase, Potsin, and Okyereko were also there to assist with road clearance and situation management.
The accident’s cause is being investigated.
Meanwhile, people have petitioned the Ghana Highway Authority to build speed ramps on the highway to reduce accidents and avoid deaths and property damage.
