Don’t be fooled by the results; we’re OK -Hopeson Adorye

Hopeson Adorye, a polling agent for aspiring flagbearer Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and a New Patriotic Party (NPP) loyalist, has stated that the Super Delegates Conference results have not disappointed his candidate.

According to the preliminary results, Mr Kyerematen came in third place, trailing Kennedy Agyapong (15.03%) and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (10.82%).

However, his agent, Mr Adorye, believes that the findings are irrelevant to the party’s political design because they were only used to select five minutes out of ten candidates, of which Mr Kyerematen was one.

“We are okay with the process in that this is just an event to shortlist five out of 10 contenders. It’s not an election that we are selecting one person to lead so if my candidate is shortlisted, we are okay with it… Already, we knew how this thing would go,” he told Joy News in a side conversation at the party’s headquarters.

Mr Adorye believes that the 965 Super Delegates’ choice does not represent the party’s supporters because they represent only 0.04% of the entire number of NPP supporters eligible to vote on November 4.

Based on this backdrop, he stated that it would be invalid for anybody to use the Delegates Conference outcomes to make a decision on the flagbearership competition.

He advised Alan Kyerematen’s followers not to be shaken by the change of events, urging them to maintain faith and rally behind the candidate.

Regardless, he congratulated the Election Committee on a job well done.
